Gearbox Housings
The gearbox housing is a non-rotating component of the gearbox. It is the central part of the gearbox, to fix all other components such as bearings, flanges, shafts, and spiral bevel gears. The base to fit the gears with a defined tooth bearing and backlash are the angle of the housing and the offset of axis of the holes. This guarantees the best possible running of the gears and high quality of transmission. Gearbox housings are commonly produced from nylon. The heat is dissipated by radiation through the gearbox housing surfaces and through the convection to the surrounding air, surrounding structures, and components. The gearbox housing alignment should be properly inspected well at periodic intervals.
Applications of gearbox housing are aerospace transmission, motor sport transmission, in solar gas turbine engine, and several other transmissions. Gearbox housings are essentially used in robots, and electric motors.
